It is often said that when two elephants fight, the grass suffers. While we condemn in its entirety the attack by Hamas on the Israeli civilians and non-civilians, we wish to remind the world that Hamas is different from the rest of the Palestinians. In fact, the Palestinians themselves might be afraid to speak out about the Hamas attack due to fear of the group. Israel in seeking justice over the attack should not declare war on Palestinians.
The world should use their official diplomatic channels to negotiate with Israel and Palestine and find an everlasting solution to this long-running crises. Palestinians deserve the right and dignity to survive, to travel, to enjoy their life and to have their own peaceful country. Israelis also deserve same right, as well as be recognized by their neighbors as a country.
The world should focus on a peaceful solution on the long run, but also in the short run, focus on ensuring that the current IDF operation recognizes that Hamas is different from Palestine.
